At 13 years old, AJ Carr, created the organization Building Bosses to teach the youth the importance of leadership, entrepreneurship, and service. AJ believes that one of the main reasons there is so much violence in the community is because there aren’t enough leaders. Through Building Bosses, he plans to teach the youth how to start their own businesses, as well as show them different ways they can actively participate in activities that will benefit their community.

  AJ strives to make a difference in as many young lives as possible. Building Bosses will provide

adolescents with guidance and support by offering mentoring, private tutoring, clothing, &

possibly financial assistance to those in need. The program will also include sending out young

ambassadors to raise social consciousness about constant youth violence, and holding

fundraising events in order to provide immediate relief and assistance to those suffering from

homelessness and hunger regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
